Myopia and Ortho-K
Wake and See Technology is now available for children.

At Rose Opticians, we spend time with parents to discuss options available for their children.

We understand that each patient must be offered a solution that is right for their individual needs and which suits their lifestyle. We are proud to be ambassadors of the groundbreaking Wake and See Technology, which is now available for children as young as seven.

Wake and See is an innovative vision correction solution that takes advantage of the latest developments in Orthokeratology (Ortho-K). The treatment negates the need for glasses or contact lenses during the day and is a safe alternative to laser eye surgery.

Our opticians regularly get asked; “Does my child have to wear glasses?”

For the first time parents have a choice; their child can be spectacle and contact lens free all day. Some successful Wake and See wearers are as young as seven. Parents remain in complete control of all aspects of their child’s vision and eye health. With Wake and See’s custom made paediatric myopia control and stabilisation shells children can attain comfortable vision, all day, device free.

Another concern is; “Will my child’s eyes get worse?”

Progressing myopia is a worry for all parents especially those who are myopic themselves and understand from experience what myopia is like. For the first time parents may now be able to stabilize their child’s myopia using Wake and See’s Myopia Control and Stabilization System (MCSS).

Whilst this technique is in the early trial phase, the anecdotal evidence and early science-based evidence does suggest that using this technology may reduce or even eliminate the progression of your child’s myopia.
