Eye testing Sharks!

Hammer Head Sharks get an EYE Examination!!!

Blog on May 18th, 2011 No Comments

As a keen diver I spotted this piece on Hammer Head Sharks and Eye Tests. The mystery of why their heads are such a strange shape has now been solved after some mad Oceanographers put them in small tanks to examine their field or vision and 3-D Depth perception. Apparently  they can see ABOVE, BELOW, IN-FRONT and BEHIND all at the same time! So do not try to sneak up on a Hammer Head shark all you budding Shark Divers out there!  Also because their eyes as so far apart their 3D vision is the best in the world…not good news if you a fish. Hunting  Hammer Heads can estimate their preys distance exactly and charge at the correct time. Check out for more info.
